ST. GEORGE — A twice convicted 30-year-old sex offender from Santa Clara appeared in federal court for sentencing following an arrest in 2023.

Police arrested Payden Irvin Davis last year as he arrived to meet up with an 11-year-old boy, but was met by federal agents instead.

On Wednesday, Davis appeared before a federal judge for to be sentenced on one count of coercion and enticement at a hearing held at U.S. District Court in St. George. He pleaded guilty to the charge in February.

After considering the prosecutors statements and prior convictions, U.S. District Judge Ann Marie McIff Allen sentenced Davis to serve 15 years in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervision.
